Caesar Salad Dressing

Posted by Roxanne on March 2, 2016

Caesar Salad
We have discovered a “new” best pizza parlor in our neighborhood. Grimaldi’s pizza is as close as I can get to New York City some days. The pizza is NYC perfect and the Caesar salad! What can I say? The dressing must have some kind of addictive secret food additive whisked directly into the dressing. It is definitely salad nirvana.

As always, I could hardly wait to get home and try to recreate this dressing.

Bottled salad dressing from the grocery store, say what? [Read more…]

Cheesy Chicken Tortilla soup
Winter is definitely not at the top of my “favorite season” list. I’ll admit that I enjoy a great snow day once in a while but the gloomy days can carve away at my generally cheerful outlook. I was always taught to count my blessings and oh my goodness there are many. One of the blessings of winter is that soup is always welcome at the dinner table. Most soups are easy enough to prepare and for some reason they cure winter time blues and warm the soul. I like to use this season to add new soups to the recipe box. That is the beauty of soup……there are literally hundreds to try. [Read more…]

Cappuccino Cake

Cappuccino Cke
By this time of year the guilt of over indulging during the holidays has subsided and we have almost 3 weeks of making healthier food choices under our belt. At our house we are definitely ready for a treat.

Macarons are my latest guilty pleasure and I was touched beyond words on my birthday this year when Kathy surprised me with macarons from my favorite pastry guru, au bon macaron. My thoughts turn to years and years ago when my birthday treat always consisted of a slice of Cappuccino Cake from Houlihan’s. It was the perfect duo of chocolate cake and coffee flavored icing, always served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. [Read more…]
