Small bites are one of my favorite food specialties these days. Truth be known they have been near and dear to my heart since the Babycakes books were published. They are a tidbit, morsel and sweet treat to enjoy with no guilt and the after effect is pure pleasure. My kind of baking during this time of year that is filled with Easter plans, showers, weddings and graduations. [Read more…]
Caesar Salad Dressing
We have discovered a “new” best pizza parlor in our neighborhood. Grimaldi’s pizza is as close as I can get to New York City some days. The pizza is NYC perfect and the Caesar salad! What can I say? These were perfection and are a wonderful way to celebrate any special occasion. My thoughts turn to years and years ago when my birthday treat always consisted of a slice of Cappuccino Cake from Houlihan’s. It was the perfect duo of chocolate cake and coffee flavored icing, always served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. [Read more…]
Queso Dip
Mexican cheese dip, queso, Rotel® dip or queso fresco dip….call it what you want, this time of year as we gather around the television to cheer on our favorite football team, you will want to have a great recipe for Mexican cheese dip in your back pocket.
After the holidays our family tries to cut back on all the extravagant food choices but by the time the Super Bowl rolls around we have another standing tradition. Wings and Mexican cheese dip are always served for the “special” game. Since our favorite Kansas City Chiefs are in the playoffs, we may have to break tradition and celebrate with tailgate treats earlier this year.
I do believe I have tested literally hundreds of variations of this dip in my career. [Read more…]
