Coffee Cake

It happens! Some days I cave and go straight to the easy way out. No, I am not always proud but hey, I am human. Yes, I went to pastry school and yes, I travelled to Paris with Julia Child and have attended more pastry school presentations than I can count. The trip to France with Julia was a trip of a lifetime and one I shall treasure always. [Read more…]

Fresh Peach Pie

Peach Pie

Summertime conjures up so many fond memories both of activities and food.

You can’t recall past summers and not remember peaches. The rosy, ripe jewels and that juice that drips from your chin to your toes. Awh, yes, when peaches are ripe and at their peak their is no better memory.

If the thought of a homemade crust is more than you can bare, simply use one of the pie crusts that are premade and in the refrigerated section at the grocery store. [Read more…]

Strawberry Fields Forever

Posted by Roxanne on June 4, 2013

Strawberries

It has been a strawberry filled summer and summer hasn’t even arrived. Every year I promise myself that I will find a luscious strawberry patch, pick berries and enjoy the fruits of my labor. Sadly, years have raced by and either I couldn’t locate a strawberry picking farm or I was out of town during the peak picking time. This year the stars aligned and blessings were bountiful. My family and I picked berries two weekends in a row. Read the blog on KC Chowtown for a description and location of the berry farm. [Read more…]
