Soup! It’s what’s for dinner more days than not when the temperature begins to plummet and the busyness of October, November and December appear. I’ll be honest, the temperature doesn’t even need to plummet for me to enjoy a delicious bowl of soup. There are as many great tasting soups as there are books written about the subject. The calendar page swished over to September and zap! Warp speed running as we try to get back into the groove of a regular schedule. We have a looming cookbook deadline at the end of the month and that means craziness at our house with a capital C! (More on the new cookbook when we can share the news, but we couldn’t be more excited or have more fun working on the recipes!)
Deadlines, doctor’s appointments, bible study, quilt quild, card games with girlfriends, cookbook club, catching up with family and the list goes on and on. It’s all good, no let me rephrase, it’s all great! I’m feel so blessed beyond measure but the busyness means that dinner has to be a no brainer. [Read more…]

What’s for dinner? This time of year, we have grilled about one too many burgers and I struggle to think of something different.
Pork tenderloin is one of my go-to easy-to-fix dinners. But, this time of year, the heat seems to squash that idea. While quick and easy, leaving the pork tenderloin whole to roast or grill takes a bit of time. So, kabobs to the rescue. [Read more…]

Just like clockwork every year, it happens. The temperature soars into three digits or at least it feels like the number is 3 digits and everyone begins counting the days until cooler weather. Dinner still needs to be prepared and this time of year, the easier the better. No one wants to heat up the oven and in turn heat up the kitchen.
